The Consultants with Anderson Textile Services (“ATS”) are all former members of Victor Kramer Company (“VKCo”) which was founded in 1939 and has a prestigious 79-year history of laundry-linen-drycleaning consulting, laundry engineering design, and facility management experience.  VKCo provided laundry management consulting services to more than 1,000 individual hotels and hotel companies, hospital systems, central and commercial laundries, architects, community rehabilitation facilities, the cruise industry and government and military agencies nationwide and internationally. Sheldon Anderson, ATS President, Tom Mara, former VKCo President formed a new company focused on continuing their lifelong commitment and contributions to the laundry industry. Their experience and reputation are unmatched in providing leadership, consulting and expertise to the laundry industry.

Sheldon Anderson Headshot

Sheldon Anderson – President

Mr. Anderson joined the VKCo Management Consulting Team in 2006 following a successful career in hotel management with the Fairmont and Four Seasons Hotels, and individual properties including the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida, and the Drake Hotel in Oak Brook, Illinois.  

In his capacity as Regional Manager, Mr. Anderson was responsible for overseeing the company’s laundry management assignments which collectively provide laundry, uniform, and drycleaning services to healthcare and hotel properties processing over 70-million pounds per year.   His expertise in operational performance led to the company’s highest ratings in profitability, production, engagement and service levels. Sheldon formed Anderson Textile Services in 2018.

Mr. Anderson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Operations at the University of Houston, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Mr. Anderson is a Professional Squash Referee, and a certified instructor and assessor of Squash Officials. He is recognized as being one of the best officials on the World Tour and is the foremost instructors of referees Internationally He has served as a member of the United States Squash Board of Directors and committees for the past 20 years and represented the United States as a player in international events.

Tom Mara – Advisor and Consultant

Mr. Mara joined VKCo in 1972 and was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in April of 1984.  During his 34-years as President, he has been deeply involved in nationwide and international hotel and healthcare laundry assignments to analyze and improve operations and systems, conduct economic feasibility and market studies, to prepare business plans, and develop short or long-term strategic development plans. Tom recently joined Anderson Textile Services; a new company formed to provide laundry consulting services to the industry. He worked with Sheldon Anderson for over 14-years.

Mr. Mara served on the Board of several hospital central laundries, three joint venture central laundry projects, and numerous community projects in his home state.  He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Bridgeport.  Mr. Mara has authored many articles on a wide variety of laundry-linen subjects, has lectured at the Cornell School of Hotel Administrators, and is a member of the American Hospital Association, and the American, New York, Caribbean and Bahamas Hotel Associations.

Joseph Lee – Senior Consultant/Operations Specialist, Chemist

Mr. Lee joined VKCo in 1998 to become General Manager of the company’s central laundry in Athens, Georgia.

Prior to joining VKCo, he had a successful career as Director of Technical Services for one of the leading manufacturers of wash chemicals and ozone laundry-washing systems.  His responsibilities included coordination and implementation of laundering systems throughout the United States.  In addition, Mr. Lee managed several large hospital laundries and a central laundry plant including Tri-State Healthcare Laundry in Edgewood, Kentucky; the Methodist Hospital laundry in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Parkview Memorial Hospital laundry in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center laundry in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Since becoming a member of the ATS Management Consulting Team, Mr. Lee has provided operational and management support to the company’s central laundry plants and has served on numerous healthcare and hospitality consulting assignments.

Mr. Lee completed various laundry management courses at the International Fabricare Institute and the National Association of Institutional Laundry Managers.  Upon his discharge from the United States Army in 1969, he attended the University of Cincinnati.

Support Team

The ATS staff members have backgrounds in industrial engineering, fabrics, wash-room chemistry, nursing, business administration, finance, computer science, laundry & dry cleaning management, and the like, and are supported by a technical and office staff that includes engineers, systems analysts, draftsmen, statisticians, researchers, report writers, specialists in material handling and machinery systems, washing technology, textiles, government regulations and compliance, total quality management, sales and marketing, management and employee training, and safety and motivation. The ATS team members are individuals who have distinguished themselves and earned their credentials in the laundry industry.
